Each recipient's college of choice will receive $3,000 to be applied toward tuition and fees during their freshman year. If the recipient provides a report each semester reflecting they have maintained at least a "B" average and participated in an organized activity for the benefit of others through school, church or community organizations, an additional $1,000 will be awarded each year for a maximum of three additional years. The maximum amount paid on behalf of the recipient shall be $6,000.
The applicant must be a graduating senior of Lake Highlands High School with a GPA of 85 or above. Selection will be based on character, scholastic ability, extra-curricular activities, financial need and a short essay.
Complete the online application. You will need to include an essay (approximately 300 words) describing a character building activity/event in your life. Please answer all questions before submitting the application. You may save your application and come back to it later if you are not able to finish in one sitting; each time you click Next on a page, your progress will be saved. If a question is not applicable please write "N/A"; however, it is to the candidate's advantage to answer all questions as fully as possible.
Submit the names and email addresses of the two individuals who will write your your recommendations (at least one from a high school counselor or teacher). Do not include more than the two requested recommendations. Recommendation writers may also come to this website to request a new link if they cannot locate the original link required to write a recommendation.
Recommendations are due by Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Applications due by Thursday, March 25, 2021.
